This policy explains what information BoardSpy collects, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

1) Who this applies to

This policy applies to users of:

• The BoardSpy web app at boardspy.site
• The BoardSpy browser extension

2) Data we collect

• Account data: email, name, and Google account identifier used for sign-in.
• Route data: saved commute route details, schedule times, active days, and transport mode.
• Preferences: city, country, interests, and notification preferences.
• Device and push data: notification token and device/platform metadata required for push notifications.
• Usage and diagnostics: operational logs needed for reliability, anti-abuse, and debugging.

3) How we use data

• Provide route traffic checks, alerts, and commute-related insights.
• Deliver personalized deals and recommendations based on saved preferences.
• Send notifications requested by the user (including browser/mobile push where enabled).
• Maintain platform security, prevent abuse, and improve service quality.

4) Third-party services

BoardSpy uses trusted providers to operate features, including infrastructure and APIs such as Google (OAuth, Maps), Firebase Cloud Messaging, and email/service providers used by the platform.

5) Data retention

We retain data only as long as needed for service operation, legal compliance, security, and legitimate business purposes. Notification tokens and user preferences can be updated or disabled by users from app/extension settings.

6) Your choices

• You can disable extension notifications and push features in settings.
• You can update route details and preferences from the app.
• You can request account/data deletion by contacting us.

7) Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical controls to protect personal data. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we continuously monitor and improve safeguards.

8) Children

BoardSpy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9) Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
