The Karachi e-challan is Sindh Police's faceless e-ticketing system, officially called TRACS (Traffic Regulation and Citation System). It was inaugurated in late October 2025 under the Karachi Safe City project (Dawn).
How it works:
- AI cameras at signals, junctions and main roads detect a violation.
- Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) reads the plate and finds the registered owner.
- A challan notice goes to the owner's registered address by Pakistan Post and appears in the TRACS app with the violation, time, place and photo.
- There's no traffic officer and no roadside stop, which is why it's called "faceless."

Method 1: TRACS 4 Citizens app (official, recommended)

Method 2: E-challan check by vehicle number
In the TRACS app, enter your vehicle registration number
exactly as it's printed on the plate, without spaces or dashes

How much is an e-challan fine in Karachi?
Fines are far higher than the old roadside challans. A seatbelt violation was Rs10,000 at launch (Dawn). After public outcry the Sindh government reviewed the rates (Dawn) and moved to lower fines for motorcyclists and cars up to 1,000cc (Express Tribune).
